Requirements for Accreditation

Aspiring security professionals can apply for accreditation under two categories.

Category A

– has not less than 4 years of experience (of which at least 3 years should have been obtained while practising in Singapore) in the security or law enforcement fields, in which the applicant performed core functions such as security planning/training/consultancy, security management, or event/building security

– has at least a Specialist Diploma from a recognised Institute of Higher Learning in a security field as may be acceptable to the SCAP Board

Category B

– has not less than 10 years of experience (of which at least 5 years should have been obtained while practising in Singapore) in the security or law enforcement fields, in which the applicant performed core functions such as security planning/training/consultancy, security management, or event/building security OR has obtained the SAS Certified Security Professional Certificate

– has passed an Entrance Examination on relevant security subjects conducted by the Board
