Overview
On 2 Oct 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs (“MHA”), the Security Association Singapore (“SAS”), and the Association of Certified Security Agencies (“ACSA”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”).
The MOU set out the following common objectives, to:
– Recognise industry standards for Security Consultants
– Establish an accreditation framework for Security Consultants
– Establish a body to accredit Security Consultants and set parameters for accreditation
– Establish a framework for the Continuous Professional Development of Security Consultants
– Establish a Code of Ethics for Security Consultants
Thereafter, the Security Consultants Accreditation Programme (“SCAP”) was established, with its Board convening in June 2020.
